Annual Competitions
Each year the town is entered in the Britain in Bloom competition for the South West area which includes South Glos, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Wiltshire. Within that area we compete directly with towns of similar population e.g. Sidmouth, St.lves, Corsham and Devizes. Over the years we have won numerous certificates and in 2002 and 2003 we won the prestigious Portman Cup: in 2004 we won a Silver Gilt award followed by Gold Awards in 2005 and 2006.
We also won Gold in 2007, 2008 and 2009. In 2008 we also won the Bruford cup and an RHS discretionary award for the theme 'Local Roots' and in 2009 we entered the National Britain In Bloom competition representing the South West and in our class we won a Gold medal and the best in our class.

Best Road in Town.

"We have a Trophy to commemorate Mrs Janet Lines who passed away in 2009 and was one of our founding members. The trophy will be awarded at the judges discretion to the best Youth Project with particular importance being given to projects soley undertaken by young people without or with minimal adult assistance".
